Rivian Has Been Posting Informative and Fun Tweets (and Has Something Like Teslas Dog Mode Now)

Social networking can seem like a major challenge for a business at times. Potential clients won’t be intrigued if you are too somber and uninteresting. If you overdo the fun on Twitter, your brand can come out as silly. The ideal trifecta is finding a balance where you’re having fun, getting good consumer engagement, and spreading your message, but it’s not simple.

Therefore, it makes sense to criticize the businesses that appear to be doing a good job of making us laugh while providing us with useful information. And we believe the Rivians team has been succeeding admirably in doing so.

Pet Comfort, a feature in our most recent software update, is made to keep your Rivian cabin cool and cozy even for the slobbiest of traveling companions. Discover more: https://t.co/OEyc06A4E7 pic.twitter.com/oyxZVzwjMF

(@Rivian) Rivian June 30, 2022 Firstly, let’s look at this tweet from last month on Pet Comfort. If it isn’t clear, this is Rivian’s version of Tesla’s Dog Mode. Dog owners may keep their pets in the car using Tesla’s Dog Mode while they run errands. The mode plays soothing music and adjusts the cabin’s temperature to the dog’s comfort level. Additionally, it shows a message on the car’s screen informing onlookers that the animal is secure and receiving proper care.

Rivian might have provided a video tutorial, detailed explanations, or just screenshots of the main display (which is very similar to Teslas Dog Mode display). Instead, it engaged in an activity it knows users of social media enjoy: browsing pet photos. More significantly, we are witnessing adorable, contented, and healthy pets (with the possible exception of the cat, but cats are usually afraid to be away from home, so we cant fault Rivian for this).

Every journey starts with a single step. Additionally, occasionally, a huge wahoo. pic.twitter.com/SmjgcFAEMA

Rivian June 29, 2022 (@Rivian) Here is yet another superb illustration. Rivian trucks are fantastic for exploration. They are large and feature plenty of storage space. They can also tackle any terrain and are long-lasting. Rivian might be the way to go if you’re seeking for a truck that can accompany you on any expedition. But expressing that and actually demonstrating that are two distinct activities.

Instead of just giving us the narrative, Rivian wants to show us the story by using happy individuals, one person demonstrating how large the gear tunnel is, another shot of the Rivian with a wonderful view out the window, and another action shot of the truck drifting in loose sand. Any college writing professor will tell you that’s the appropriate strategy, and it also applies to images.

Once more, entertaining and educational, but not clownish.

Even while everything here appears clear in terms of social media, let’s not forget that some businesses have had terrible luck. For instance, American Apparel was forced to delete a post after the company mistakenly used an image of the Space Shuttle Challenger for Independence Day in 2014 in an offensive manner.

It’s critical to keep in mind that social media is a public platform, meaning that anything you put there will be visible to everyone. Thus, consider how your message might be understood and whether it might be offensive before pressing the post button. But don’t forget to add some humor, interest, and information to your posts as well. A wonderful example of doing this correctly is Rivian.
