Tribecar from Singapore collaborates with Charge for EV fast charging

Using an EV for ridesharing or taxi services has a lot of benefits. Before taking into account the environmental advantages, the owner will notice a significant difference due to the fewer maintenance requirements, lower fuel costs, and the absence of an idle ICE engine.

One significant obstacle, though, is charging. There are petrol stations everywhere, and a tank of gas should last you the entire day if you operate a gas or hybrid cab. When operating an electric vehicle (EV), you must always be prepared for a long-distance passenger who won’t want to wait at a charging station with you. Therefore, a sufficient number of stations as well as a competitive pricing are required for quick charging.

For car-sharing programs, this problem is considerably more serious. While most EV renters will require assistance not only in locating charging stations but also in locating the best deals, a taxi or ride-sharing driver only needs to learn the ropes once.

According to a news release, Singapore’s Tribecar foresaw this difficulty and just reached a contract that substantially resolves it. A partnership has been formed between Charge , a top provider of electric vehicle charging stations in Southeast Asia, and Tribecar, the largest car-sharing service in Singapore. Tribecar, which has a fleet of more than 1,300 vehicles, intends to electrify them all. Charge will offer the substantial EV charging infrastructure that is required on the island.

By the end of 2022, Charge claims it hopes to have 1000 EV charging stations. Charge says it is rapidly growing its public charging network in Singapore. Along with being the only EV company with operations in public housing, condominiums, shopping centers, and office buildings, Charge ‘s deployment includes 120kW fast chargers, the fastest publicly accessible charger speed in Singapore. As a result, any range anxiety that renters might have is eliminated.

“The partnership with Charge , a vital component in the expansion of EV charging in Singapore, reinforces our leadership position in promoting sustainable mobility in the city-car-sharing state’s industry. By utilizing Charge ‘s massive EV charging network in the heartlands, we can now accelerate our electrification goals and strengthen our users’ adoption of EV mobility options to enhance the entire experience for our customers. This was even more of a fit for us because of our shared objective to enhance sustainable mobility in Singapore, according to Adrian Lee, co-founder of Tribecar.

Members of Tribecar will profit from Charge ‘s cheaper charging prices. Not to add that many designated public housing areas will have their own EV charge stations for Tribecar vehicles that will be carefully positioned near where the vehicles are usually stored. Members now have a simple and practical way to recharge their vehicles when they are not in use. Tribecar will encourage its users to use Charge charging stations as part of the cooperation.

“In keeping with our goal of accelerating electric mobility in Singapore, Charge has been a key factor in promoting the electrification of vehicle fleets. Fleet cars must lead the way in electrification because they often have higher daily mileage. According to Goh Chee Kiong, CEO of Charge , “Our relationship with top car-sharing business Tribecar is a powerful affirmation of how Charge ‘s extensive EV charging network can stimulate EV adoption and make driving an EV simple and hassle-free.

Energy cost savings are one of the key advantages electric fleet users experience. In contrast to an ICE vehicle, they actually save at least 50% each km when choosing to pay for their fuel. Tribecar seeks to make it simpler for customers to utilize EV charging stations by placing them in locations where their vehicles are deployed with Charge .

The Tribecar and Charge apps are available for download from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store if you ever require an EV in Singapore for a short journey or for several days at a time. Check them out and let us know how it went after you do.
