We discovered that Steve Heckeroth is the founder and CIO of the clean technology company Solectrac as well as the manufacturer of high-efficiency electric farm tractors. Steve also has a long history of building EVs that dates back to the 1990s, when he converted a Type III Karmann Ghia to electric power to support the cause of Californias original 1990 ZEV mandate .
Not even his day job was that. In addition to being an architect, Steves specialized in creating solar-powered umbrella dwellings in California that generated their own power and used the insulating qualities of the Earth to keep their temperature relatively constant.
In other words, Steve is a fascinating person, and I believe you’ll enjoy learning more about the path that brought him to his current position. Listen to it, then share your thoughts about the most recent CleanTech Talk episode in the space provided for comments at the bottom of the page.
