Elon Musk’s upcoming futuristic vehicle: the Tesla Robovan?

Since its beginnings, Tesla has consistently emphasized looking to the future, and its CEO recently put out a fresh concept to further the company’s focus on the future. As if Tesla didn’t already have its hands full with futuristic projects like the Cybertruck and the Optimus robot on the horizon, the CEO and Technoking Elon Musk just put out a fresh concept for moving people and things.

In a tweet, Elon Musk speculated that Tesla’s upcoming futuristic car would be a customisable robovan. Musk is renowned for posting online riffs on suggestions for new car features, but in this case he included some details that give the impression that the proposal might actually be feasible.

Maybe Tesla should create a highly customizable Robovan for transporting both people and goods? According to Musk’s tweet.

Musk not only mentioned building a “robovan,” which we presume refers to a van using the automaker’s fully autonomous driving robot, but he also added a few details he felt were cool.

According to Musk, the van’s roof area may be tripled with an optional solar canopy that runs along both sides of the vehicle.
duuude. That would be the coolest item to bring while glamping or camping.

A different user uploaded a picture of a Tesla trailer that was recently seen at IdeenExpo in Germany. It has extendable solar panels and a Starlink satellite dish. Pretty much, Musk said, adding that people might use a van to sit underneath these panels.

With the new Roadster, Cybertruck, and Semi still scheduled for production in the years to come, not to mention the impending Optimus robot, which is arguably the company’s most futuristic announcement to far, Tesla already has a lot going on.

Musk mentioned that the car it intends to utilize as a robotaxi will be launched by 2023, with production beginning as early as 2024, during this year’s Q1 earnings call. It’s unclear, though, if Tesla will meet these goals or not.

However, as Musk stated, a reconfigurable robovan would be the ideal vehicle to use Tesla’s FSD technology for both people and goods. Not to mention the numerous applications for Musk’s other businesses, like as The Boring Company’s self-driving passenger automobile, as one illustration.

Tesla’s cars are renowned for being high-tech, even down to the fact that they were some of the first mass-produced electric cars available. Beyond the Cybertruck, the Semi, and a few other projects the manufacturer must crank out first, a Tesla robovan might easily be within reach.
