There have been many overblown reports of my death. After its ground-breaking BMW i3, BMW took some time to release another fully electric vehicle model, but it is currently becoming more and more competitive in the EV industry. BMW now offers the iX3, iX, i4, iX1 and i7, which are only beginning to ship. The MINI E is then listed after BMW Group as a whole. In general, sales of BMW Group 100% electric vehicles are now rapidly increasing.
The BMW Group sold 128.196 fully electric vehicles in the first nine months of 2022. When compared to the first nine months of 2021, they have increased by 114.8%. In contrast, the BMW Group’s overall growth rate was 6.6%.
Pieter Nota, member of the BMW AG Board of Management responsible for Customer, Brands, and Sales, stated that the “dynamic increase in fully-electric vehicles highlights the attraction of our goods.” In other words, people enjoy driving BMWs, and we’re now producing fully electric cars in addition to the i3.
BMW states that 52,306 electric vehicles were sold in the third quarter of 2022, which is significantly more than the average for the first three quarters, demonstrating that its EV sales are increasing at a rapid rate (which would be 42,732).
The BMW i4 and BMW iX, the company’s two innovation flagships, continue to drive growth along with the BMW iX3*, with particularly strong new orders. The two newest completely electric cars from the BMW brand, the BMW i7* and the BMW iX1*, will add to the momentum. Both vehicles are getting excellent customer reviews, much like the all-electric long-wheelbase 3 Series in China. The completely electric vehicle lineup for the BMW Group is supported by the all-electric MINI Cooper SE*, which is also seeing rapid growth. As a result, the company is on target to treble its sales of entirely electric vehicles in 2022.
As BMW noted, it continues to be the world’s best-selling premium-class auto brand at the time. 517,689 units were sold in total during the third quarter of 2022. How much longer can it resist Tesla?
