Awarded Products And New (Secret) Products Keep Radio Flyer Busy!

Despite producing smiles and laughter for 105 years, Chicago-based Radio Flyer isn’t taking it easy. With new goods entering new markets and an enlarged portfolio that aims to bring those smiles to more children and even some adults, the company has been on a bit of a tear lately. In other words, Radio Flyer is all about growth, and they have shown this by obtaining B Corp classification.

Due to its dedication and advancements toward having a positive impact on the environment and society, the brand is currently ranked as the top toy and electric bike maker in the world by recognized by B Labs . The B Corp certification demonstrates that every item purchased on RadioFlyer.com has a 100% validated emission reduction project to offset its carbon footprint. This was made possible in part by Radio Flyer’s concentration on the raw materials it uses to make packaging (the company has increased the recycled content of packaging to 87%) and on carbon offset purchases, which are important to the Flyer brand.

Our basic values are the foundation of our dedication to sustainability and social impact. We go a step further with that commitment with FLYER, our new line of e-bikes for families, says the company’s Chief Wagon Officer, Robert Pasin. We are extremely passionate about encouraging families to take more bike rides instead of automobile excursions so they can experience the great outdoors while we do our best to preserve it.

I contacted Radio Flyer to inquire about their environmental commitment and anticipated to hear the standard LEED-certified building , “We recycle,” etc. comments. Instead, I got a rather thorough reply, which I’ve reproduced (undeleted) below.

Radio Flyers pioneering initiatives made the brand a toy industry leader in sustainability. Goals and activities to learn and share ongoing progress toward environmental responsibility are at the forefront of Radio Flyers’ commitment to global sustainability.

In order to keep global emission reduction targets well below 2C above pre-industrial levels, Radio Flyer has publicly committed to science-based emission reduction goals that are in line with the Science Based Targets Initiative . RE100: Radio Flyer is a part of RE100 , a network of corporations committed to generating all of their electricity from renewable sources. Radio Flyer has joined the Clean Production Action Chemical Footprint Project , which is in line with attempts to handle chemicals used in manufacturing more effectively. Radio Flyer plants a tree for every toy purchased on radioflyer.com in collaboration with The Arbor Day Foundation. Over 290,000 trees have been planted by the brand since the program’s inception in 2013.

Even though the company has been actively involved in the environment and committed to sustainable business practices, this is just a small portion of what they have been doing lately. Recall the fresh goods I mentioned at the beginning of the article? I wasn’t only talking about the Ultimate Go-Kart or the Tesla Cyberquad that we tried earlier this year.

UPCOMING PRODUCTS FROM RADIO FLYER

Radio Flyer new products for 2023.

A entire lineup of new goods that will make their appearance in the coming months were shown to me during my most recent visit to the Radio Flyers Chicago headquarters, but for the time being, I can only tell you about two of them. A brand-new, foldable electric cargo bike for big (ish) youngsters and a prototype of the Ultimate Go-Kart, a follow-up product under the FLYER brand, are shown from left to right.

I’ll offer you the teaser portions of each of those reviews below to whet your appetites, but a full review of each will be coming soon.

BIG KIDS FLYER KART

FLYER go kart

The black color and identical FLYER logo as the adult-oriented e-bikes on this new, more potent Radio Flyer Ultimate Go-kart indicate that it is a more serious, grown-up ride than the smaller red one.

The updated kart has rubber tires, an adjustable sliding seat, and a higher top speed. There aren’t many details, and I didn’t intend to write about this kart so soon, but Pasin himself revealed it on his personal LinkedIn profile, so I couldn’t help but mention it. I am very eager to ride it!

ELECTRIC CARGO BIKE THAT FOLDS This newest foldable electric cargo bike from Flyers is remarkably light for an electric bike. It moved with a somewhat more agile feeling than the solid-framed Flyer L885, which I named the best cargo bike for 2022. It actually feels practically throwable, and I’d be shocked if it weighted much more than the chubby, worn-out Aventon Sinch folder.

The primary benefit of choosing Flyer, in line with the L885, isn’t always the bike (though thats solid). Instead, it’s the ecosystem of Radio Flyer accessories, which includes a smaller kid and cargo carrier (designed for only one child) and a more open kid seat (shown above) for bigger children who can get on and off the bikes by themselves.

You can watch Radio Flyer’s recently released video below to view both in greater depth. After seeing it, let us know what you think of Flyers’ newest e-rides in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
